Sports Fusion is an award winning partnership between all stakeholders in grassroots sport on the Gold Coast. It is the structure which defines how Council, the Queensland Government Department of Sport and Recreation Services (Gold Coast Advisors), and Gold Coast Regional/Local Sporting Bodies have agreed to work together to build a thriving grassroots sporting community. Through Sports Fusion we have agreed to take a holistic approach to sport development and due to this define ‘thriving’ as a grassroots sporting community with quality facilities, that provide quality activities run by skilled and capable people.
The Sports Fusion Partnership is critical to ensuring existing sporting infrastructure is well managed and future infrastructure well planned. Sports Fusion also provides the opportunity for Council to engage sport though initiatives where sports professionals and volunteers alike are able to give direct input in the formulation of policies and procedures and offer suggestions to meet the current and future sport and recreation challenges in the city.
Sports Fusion aims to develop a shared vision for the future direction of sport in our city and then form partnerships and develop initiatives to turn this vision into reality.
